Arsenal 1 - 0 Leicester

It was a strong start to the season with the 3 points however we have the better team on paper and we had the counter so if a 1-0 win is all we can manage against a roster like Leicesters this is going to be a very hard and tough season especially when we come up against the bigger clubs, i feel we got a little lucky with the result and we need to certainly build on this and come back better next game against a strong opposition because away to Bournemouth playing like this and not putting our chances away will bite us in the arse.

DERBY COUNTY 2-0 Everton

Well we kicked off our league campaign with a good start. 2 goals and a clean sheet.
The stats report shows remarkable symmetry apart from the number of attempts.
Perez proved to be the match winner bagging a brace and was the difference between the teams really.
Saved penalties for a living and reffed for a bit.
Currently run EFLO, CoE and OFMC

Brighton 4 - 0 Manchester United

Big performance to get the season up and running, and it's nice to have goals and three points on the board against a very decent Manchester United side!

Manchester City 2-0 Aston Villa

Not the start to the title defence we would have hoped for as we were beaten at the Etihad. The game was fairly even for 85 minutes but Todd's boys were more clinical in the dying stages scoring twice to send us to defeat. They had both the counter and the homes advantage so it's no surprise really but that doesn't stop us being disappointed with the performance.

I have to hold my hands up and take responsibility with the formation and tactic I picked. Last season was built on being fairly conservative away from home and I went too gung ho from the outset in this one. Maybe I believed our own press - maybe I didn't show the opposition enough respect - either way I got the team what I deserved.

Fortunately this is game one and we can hopefully put it behind us quite quickly. The matches will come thick and fast now and we will have early chances to make ammends. No time to be licking our wounds - we just say well played to the opposition and a manager that, on this day, deservedly got the better of me. Then it's on to the next one...

Bournemouth 1 - 0 Liverpool

We secured a narrow victory against Liverpool in a tightly contested match, with an own goal providing the decisive moment. The match featured a mix of brilliant defensive plays and missed opportunities, particularly from the Liverpool side, which struggled to convert their chances.

The game kicked off with a flurry of action. Our Maddison created an early opportunity with a reverse pass to Odegaard, whose shot was brilliantly saved by the Liverpool keeper Pandur. Liverpool responded with Jackson showcasing his speed, but Pandur's strong reactions kept the match goalless.
Set pieces featured prominently early on, with both teams struggling to find that clinical finish. In the 44th minute, the tone of the game shifted dramatically when Liverpool’s Mai misjudged a clearance, inadvertently scoring an own goal. This blunder proved costly as it gifted us a 1-0 lead just before halftime.
As the second half commenced, we maintained our momentum. Odegaard came under scrutiny from the referee after a bad challenge, receiving a yellow card. Liverpool’s Szoboszlai and Tonali attempted to drive the attack forward, but their efforts were thwarted by our resolute defense. The match turned chaotic when Liverpool's Quansah was sent off after a foul on Jackson in the 43rd minute. This left Liverpool a man down and further challenged their ability to come back. Liverpool had opportunities, particularly through Coutinho, whose flick past a defender left him clear on goal, only to hit the post. As frustration mounted, Coutinho received a second yellow card in the 61st minute, resulting in another dismissal for the Liverpool side. Despite their numerical disadvantage, Liverpool continued to push forward. We remained resolute in defense, with Dalmasso earning the Man of the Match award for his confident goalkeeping. Our defense held strong against Liverpool’s attempts to equalize, helping to secure the slim victory.

Our tactical discipline and defensive strength earned us three crucial points against Liverpool. For the visitors, their inability to capitalize on opportunities, coupled with discipline issues, left them with much to ponder as they look to improve in their upcoming fixtures.

Managers reaction, even though not an exciting affair this a big 3 points from title contenders Liverpool, they have a strong side and will be at the top end of the table all season so these points are key even if we had to dig our heals in and take an own goal to secure them. Dalmasso had a fantastic game and probably the reason we were able to keep the clean sheet while the Liverpool error was a gift we couldn’t afford to turn down. They will be extremely disappointed and im sure will certainly make amense in the return fixture later on in the season.

Cherries (1) 1 - 0 (0) Reds

Not the start to the season like we wanted. It was a very even game and the two team matched each other. Both managers wanted to start the season without losing and the tactic reflected that. But we lost the game thanks to own mistakes. Two teams playing counter attack and the game it self had more shots on goal than I thought when I saw the two tactics. The first three chanes fell to the home side but every attempts was handled by Ivor Pandur in our goal. Midway through the first half we had our best spell of the game but despite creating several great goal scoring opportunities we couldn't get ourselves on the scoresheet.

The game turned for a worse when we had Jarell Quansah sent off when he brought down Nicolas Jackson clean through on Ivor Pandur. To make things even harder for us we scored an own goal a minute later when Lukas Mai miskicked the ball and it went into our own goal. Tragic end to the first half. After an hour played Philippe Coutinho came close to level the score but his shot hit the outside of the post and went out. We had hoped for a late run for the points but yet again we was let down by our own players. Philippe Coutinho stupidly punched Kaoru Mitoma and got a very deservingly red card. We had to finish the game with nine men and there was no great escape for us this night. A loss on opening day is hard to take but we have to get back on the horse and start winning.
