what a superb performance and result from the lads beating our london rivals 3 0 and the game was over after only 30 minutes can we keep this kind of performance up lets hope so i am not going to look at the table until near end of the season but lets try pick up points in everygame we play

Aston Villa 2-1 Leicester City
A big win over a side sitting near the top of the table enabling us to pull away from them a bit. The most pleasing thing about this was that we got our formation right. I knew they were going to play P and pack the midfield so we played the same and picked a more attacking formation with 4-0-3-1-2 rather than the 4-1-2-1-2 we may normally go for. This enabled us to compete a lot better in the congested middle of the park.
Zac Butterworth had an interesting game scoring the opening goal after just 7 minutes but then being sent off 10 mins into the second half. He will miss the midweek fixture. Meanwhile Anthony Gordon found the net before half time as he seems to have found his goalscoring touch. We were cruising up to half time but Doku pulled one back just before the break and it led to a cagey second half with us having to shut it down when only one goal up with ten men.
The league table is a bit confused at the moment but we know we have moved second above Liverpool after their defeat and, when it's all sorted, we expect to be on 31 points - one behind Man Utd and one ahead of Liverpool. We have maintained a nice cushion within the top four and the win takes us 11 points clear of today's opponents.
