Wolves 2-1 Scunthorpe united.

Great result for us despite going down to ten men in this game. I am really proud of the players for the fight they shown to get a result. Scunthorpe are a very good national league team and very hard to beat so our players had to work hard. The new formation we tried tonight suited the players well and everyone contributed. Asifo got sent off so unfortunately now he'll be suspended however we have Elliotte who is more than capable of taking his place and signing Johnson from Sunderland who can come onto the bench.

Manchester city u23s 1 Solihull Moors 3.

This was a great performance by the lads. McFarland got two assists which is fantastic and the captain managed two goals. I was very pleased with how the players played in the formation that they've only been playing for a few weeks. Corns also got a goal which I was glad of as he managed a couple within his first couple of games. I was really pleased that we managed to score a few goals because our good football has not been followed up with goals. Conor Wilkinson is quickly becoming a very important striker for us and so far he's justifying his selection as captain.

Leeds United U23 0 - 3 Hartlepool United

We absolutely bullied them in this one. When you've got young players vs. senior players sometimes these sorts of results happen. With 28 shots on target their keeper must have sore hands, break out the moisturiser for the lad! Though with 48 total shots we had a touch of the Imperial stormtrooper about us, we did get the broad side of the barn door but geez we've peppered it all over. Francis' brace and man of the match award shows how critical he was to this win today.

The only downside is that we've lost C_John to an injury, we think it's a month or so, that's disappointing with games coming in twice a week at the moment. He's been tidy for us this season, we do have depth in the position but not the point - we'll look forward to him returning to the matchday squad once he's passed a fitness test in a few weeks time.

Sunderland U23 0 - 2 Darlington

Call me frustrated but Darlington have done the business again here against our U23 side. A sharper and more clinical pair of strikers is the main difference today. I know it's boys against men sometimes and we are playing some 16 year olds but we were limp noodles for most of the match and I'm not rapt an away side got 2-0 to the good and then were able to sit low and try to do us on the turn. Stats say we did try but lacked penetration and an ability to beat their keeper - I suppose I've complained about lack of converting good passages of play into goals every week since the start of the season so I'm hardly saying anything new.

Well played to Darlington, I think that should put them in a good place to qualify from the group, we've got two games left and need to knuckle down to achieve our expectations of progressing from the group stage.
