Cristal Pallis u23s 1-1 Solihull moors.

Probably a fair result given the way the game went, both sets of players tried to create however their were very ffew clear cut chances. The goalkeepers both played really well for both sides which made winning difficult. Really proud of my players for trying hard and it was great to see Sem get off the mark finally after a few games. Our strikers are not scoring much however which is a worry.

Wolves u23s 0-1 Lemmington.

We were very un lucky in this game, the lads were in control for a large part of the game however we could not convert our chances which cost us. Lemmington managed to put a chance away and there goalkeeper was on top form. When a keeper is playing like that their is not a lot you can do against them apart from keep trying which we did. We can take a lot of positives as the formation worked well and we played some very good football.

Sunderland U23 1 - 0 Dagenham and Redbridge

Got the win against a spirited Dagenham side. We had a lot of it and a lot of shots with it but Dagenham were pretty calm and kept this from being a belting of a scoreline, their low block was organised and did just enough for the majority of the game.

Telling that one of our defenders was man of the match for being a playmaker rather than his defensive efforts. That probably sums up our performance and theirs. I'd like our forwards to fire a little more, that's two weeks in a row with dominant performances everywhere but the scoreboard.

Sunderland U23 Edge Past Dagenham with Buchanan Strike

Sunderland U23 1–0 Dagenham & Redbridge

The young Black Cats flew out of the blocks and peppered the Dagenham goal early, with Elliot Moore and Ryan Nolan both going close. Their dominance was rewarded on 10 minutes when defender Liam Buchanan found space on the edge of the area and drove a superb strike in off the post to give the hosts the lead.
From then on, it was a tale of Sunderland pressure against Dagenham resistance. Sam Howes, the Daggers’ goalkeeper, was outstanding, making no fewer than 13 saves to keep his side in the contest. He denied Moore on several occasions, clawed away a thunderous Nolan effort, and produced a stunning stop late on to thwart a free-kick.
Despite being second-best in possession Dagenham did threaten sporadically. Danny Wilson spurned their best chance early in the second half, blazing wide when clean through, while Dan Stephenson went close with a curling effort that narrowly cleared the bar.
