Brentford 1-2 Aston Villa

Mattheus Cunha made it 11 goals in 10 games as Villa secured a second successive away 2-1 win. The Brazilian is starting to look an absolute bargain for the £94m the club paid for him in the pre-season auction having scored almost half our goals this season. The first was from the penalty spot and the second a well worked free kick before half time after Longstaff had restored parity for the hosts. In truth we had the better of the game and fully deserved the points

We stay 5th in the league table but with the top teams flying we need to be picking up the wins to stay in the fight. It's shaping to be a tight season and lots of clubs have improved. Last year's top three sitting 5th, 6th and 10th proves that.

We also came through without any injury or suspension worries which is a positive for our small squad. Keeping people available will be key as we look to challenge on three fronts this season.

Foxes 2 - 2 Reds

We tried a new formation but we was way to open at the back and conceeded a lot of shots against us. Offensively we did well but the formation and tactic seems to be a little too risky, especially away from home. Sandro Tonali sent us a goal up midway through the first half but the home side got back in the game two minutes later when Evan Ferguson scored. However, it didn' take long before we found us a goal up again when Dominik Szoboszlai scored a screamer. We kept ourselves a goal up at half time but we couldn't hang on to the win and Lamine Sherif earned a point for the home side when he scored after an hour played.
