Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 West Bromwich Albion

One of the most one sided 1-0 wins you will ever see with us dominating the game and not allowing a single shot on target from our visitors and neighbours. Had we not won this it would have been an absolute travesty. Captain Sam Lammers scored the only goal - his 7th of the season after his transfer from Newcastle - but it could, and maybe should, have been a lot more.

The scoreline was kept down because new signing Jacob Ramsey had an inauspicious debut by getting a red card just after the hour. We're sure he'll go on to great things for the club but this wasn't the start we were hoping for.

We're top of the pile with Leeds for company and then a nice little gap starting to open up to those below them. It's nice to have the cushion because i'm sure the run will stop at some stage but, at the moment it is eight games unbeaten with seven wins from that in all competitions. We have also maintained the record of scoring in every game we have played this season. It has been a very pleasing start - but there's a long way to go

Eagles 1 - 3 Clarets

The visitors came at us with defensive tactic and somehow managed to score three goals. We made it easier for them when we had Joao Mario sent off five minutes before the break but we should have performed much better against defensive tactic. Before the sending off the visitors had put themselves a goal up and they doubled their lead through Adam Armstrong in added time in the first half. We managed to get back in the game when Jean-Philippe Mateta made it 2-1 with twenty minutes left of the game but our hopes of a result was taken away from us when The Clarets scored their third of the evening. A typical performance where nothing goes our way and a deservingly loss.
