Changes to U23s for Season 23
Right there are a couple of problems with the U23's at present in that sheeting is currently poor and needs improving and most managers want to see some their u23 players that are promoted to seniors have a chance of making the senior starting team. At present a lot sit as squaddies in teams or are sold to FMFA.
So from Season 23 the following changes are taking place.
1) The rating allowed for U23s will increase to 19 (23 for Keepers). This means any outfield player who is aged 23 or less and rated 19 (23 for keepers) or below will be allowed to play in the U23 team.
2) Keepers that are over aged or over rated that are played in the U23s MUST be 26 years old or less.
3) League Structure will stay as it is at 3 divisions of 8 teams
4) New sheeting bonus comes in for 1 season and then reviewed to entice sheeting in lower leagues.
Division 2 will get 100abs/game sheeted bonus so a potential 2800abs over 28 league games.
Division 1 will get 75abs/game sheeted bonus so a potential 2100abs over 28 league games.
Premier Division will get 50abs/game sheeted bonus so a potential 1400abs over 28 league games.
This is to aid lower teams to catch up on quality of players and sheet.
To prevent cheating teams will be monitored and continual playing of lowest rated players to stay in Div 2 or get relegated to get better bonuses will not be allowed and fines will be issued and 442Ngiven.
Missed sheets will affect bonus and percentage over the season will come into play. In order to get your full contract quota, you have to sheet for more than 75% of league matches or 21 games or more. Sheet 50 to 75% of games and it will be 75% bonus and sheet 33% to 50% of sheets and it will be 50% bonus. Under 33% or 9 games or less and it is zero bonus.
5) Missed sheets will still be 442N but there will now be fines for missed sheets of £500,000 per missed sheet. There will be 4 allowed missed sheets for good reasons and must be notified before games to game runner.
6) There are a potential 56build up and reports available to do in a season on league games and there will be a bonus at the end of season for completing/doing these to a minimum of 25 words so couple of lines. This will be in the form of upto 5 ratings that you can place on players in the senior team. you will get 1 for every 10 that are done so for example Do 50 or more and get 5. At end of season you will then be able to increase the main rating by 1 on the same number of players as you have earned bonuses. so 5=5 players. You will also get the credits for these as well so double bonus.
7) We will also review cost of shop items to make them better and affordable for managers who post.
8) FMFA League Cup will be renamed and become knockout over 2 legs. Div 2 & Div 1 teams will be in round 1 and 8 winners will be joined by prem teams in round 2.

Re: Changes to U23s for Season 23
I don't agree with fines for youth team, rather the opposite
Should be something like 250k per sheet sent.
Bonus the teams sheeting not fine the teams that don't

Re: Changes to U23s for Season 23
I think they will be looking into it, i did bring it up in the whatsapp group last night. the main issue for anyone not wanting to sheet for youths is that it would be unfair for us to benefit from the new abs scheme when there will be other managers who sheet week in week out and we get the same reward as them.
I'm happy for their to be an opt in/ opt out option if thats something we could have some kind of vote on a poll for?
I too have no interest in my youths and although i will try sheet as much as possible it's more because its been made mandatory rather than me wanting to

Re: Changes to U23s for Season 23
Right @stocko74 @Todd Fortune @Jamma
I appreciate the feedback here but I don't want to sound rude but the original post on this is was Wed Nov 06, 2024 5:11 pm. Since then we have actioned the rule change as no one said anything or commented until now.
That is nearly 4 months or a quarter of the year for you to say something which I personally think is a bit slow considering we have now started the season and put it all in place.
I am not averse to accepting that we may make mistakes on here with rules or things we put in place but when we have consulted the managers on it posted up changes and had absolutely no comments to say don't like that or that seems a bit harsh then you have to think why now and why not say something sooner?
All this was done to improve U23s with things to make them better and get more chance of some making senior teams when they get there and not be squad fillers or fodder and the sheeting was to ensure teams got the maximum bonus from it by not losing sheet bonuses because it was now mandatory.
At this late juncture I am not going to change everything, it isn't fair on me and time I put in to this or the managers who do care abut the U23s and sheet.
We will remove the fines but at a cost. If you don't want to sheet then you get nothing. There will be no bonus for the sheeting as currently but you will also get no U23 prize abs at the of the season either for where you finish in the leagues or cups.

Re: Changes to U23s for Season 23
My reasoning for not saying it sooner is because in pre season i had no idea it was a thing, its no secret that i’m not extremely active so first time i knew about it was when you recently said something in the whatsapp chat

Re: Changes to U23s for Season 23
OK guys thanks for coming back and like I say we will remove the fine from the rules but I do think if you are not going to sheet then the only abs you get are from the games themselves as you have had no input or done anything to the sheet. The bonus abs for a round you don't sheet will stand and you lose them if you don't sheet.
Just remember that it is 22 games and Div 2 get a bigger bonus of 100 abs per sheet entered so a hefty 2200 extra abs up for grabs to use on your U23 side come end of the season.
In Div 1 it is 75abs so that is 1650 extra abs.
I will discuss review the prize abs come season end but if we don't say it will be none for not sheeting then it will be a reduced amount for those that don't sheet.
