After a scoreless first leg - the second had some action. The Foxes scored early and the Hornets worked hard to get their equaliser. Disappointingly, the Foxes got the second shortly after and held on for the win. Both pleased with our effort in making the semi-finals for the Hornet's first ever Champions League appearance and also massively disappointed the Hornets couldn't contest the final. Hopefully we'll get another chance in the future - though next season definitely looks unlikely.
Well done @willz121 - your tactics were spot on for both legs. All the best for the final.
We knew if we kept it tight in the first leg, we'd have the advantage in the second one and it proved to pay off. When Watford scored, I was worried that our lack of an away goal might cost us and that I'd been too cautious in the first round, but thankfully we got the win our performance deserved.
Delighted with the way we've performed in this competition, and to reach another final is testament of how we are building slowly here. If we could replicate this kind of form in our league games, we'd be in with a shot of qualifying again next season, but maybe we just have to do it the hard way in the final!
We've played Watford four times in recent weeks, and each game has been well contested, and commiserations go to @Bedoza as he's doing an incredible job at Vicarage Road!
We get to the final though and face Burnley, and hopefully we can add another trophy to the cabinet... but it will not be easy, as Burnley are an excellent side!
