Wolves 5-2 Brighton.

A great result for the lads, another bunch of goals and we've started really well in this competition. Granted we played against two T sheets however despite this the teams made it hard for us. Although we won by 3 goals in the end Brighton were a tough side to play against and we had to work hard to achieve this result. The players were amazing and Fofana is really being pushed now by last seasons captain who got another two goals today. Tel and him again both on the score sheet twice. The whole squad contributed to this one and I am really proud of how we've started in this cup.

Fulham 1 - 1 Hartlepool United

Chuffed with a point on the road to a Super League side. We were successful in bringing the game down to our level and making it an absolute scrappy second ball chasing fest rather than letting them play freely. There was a ten or so minute period where I thought we might be able to ride that goal all the way to a historic win in this group phase however we knew we'd have to defend deep all game.

When you end up doing that, you have to defend deep and that runs the risk of fouls close to, or in, the box and Eastwood ended up clattering their guy. Glad there was nothing more from it, had a brief heart in mouth moment when it's a keeper foul in the box. Left wondering if Daly would have helped there, maybe that extra experience and positioning might have been able to deflect them away from our goal but absolutely credit to our boys here for this achievement because it's YUUUUGEEE.

Hassan gets man of the match and had a last minute good chance saved by their bloke so he'd good value for man of the match if you ask me. Also thought Topalloj did good things when he came on, games like this, clean tackles matter.

Manchester City 2 - 1 Sunderland

Yeah... not in love with this result at all. Home advantage carried them a long way I think, they had less of the ball but were more direct and just cut through us then defensively mopped us up all afternoon. On top of that we were pretty awful with out shooting but I thought we had probably done enough to secure a point at least.

Well I thought wrong, because we gave away the winner with the very last kick of the game. Savinho tried to stop Chalobah but it's not his forte, I appreciate the effort though. Puzzlingly this is the same sort of lineup that beat Aston Villa and Liveprool so I'm not sure what to make of the result other than zero points from six in the group phase.
