So here we find ourselves in the world challenge cup, we're facing our first group match against Napolie a very good italian outfit. This will not be an easy game and for some of our players this will be a new experience playing in a competition of this nature. Reaching this competition after only one season in charge is a great achievement and gives us the opportunity to match ourselves against some of the worlds best. All the players are excited for this chance and we are eager to see how our players cope in this situation. This is an exciting competition and while the league is our priority we do want to do as well as possible in this competition to prove we deserve our place.

Inter Miami vs Aston Villa
For the 3rd season in arow we find ourselves up against Messi, Suarez and their Inter Miami crew. In season 23 they dumped us out of the cup at the QF stage before we thumped them 4-0 at the same point last season on our way to lifting the trophy. These two sides are getting to be familiar opponents. To make it a little bit harder this season they are under the stewardship of Will which means this is going to be an incredibly difficult one to get a result from.
The way the fixtures have fallen we have this game and then three home games before finishing with two away. So this might be a bit of a free hit but the next three are absolutely crucial for us to take nine points. Having said that getting something from this one would start us off in good stead for the defence of our trophy.
We go into the game without Rayan Ait-Nouri who picked up a knock at the weekend and will miss a couple but we have the squad to deal with slight issues and so that should be fine. We'll have to think hard on how to setup for this though and whether we go for it or try and settle for a point. A big decision in what could, even at this stage, be a decisive game

Re: Group Game 1 - Match Buildup
Brighton and Hove Albion vs Philadelphia Union
I take on Will twice in one evening!!! This is going to be tough going. It's a hard group to be in with Liverpool and Brighton the known quantities and it will be a challenge to get through. Realistically we can't expect to get anything off the Reds so we have to target two wins vs Deportivo and then it could come down to who does best out of us and Brighton. So coming away here and maybe nicking a point could be a big result. If we lose it will put huge pressure on the home game to have any chance.
The home side will be missing Mitoma which is a blow for them but they have a very good squad and i'm sure will cope. My first view on my squad is that it is very good in main skill but struggles with secondaries which may impact how I play. So it's an opportunity to try some new things and be interesting to see what pans out.
