Aston Villa 1-8 Brighton and Hove Albion

One of the strangest freak results I have ever seen on ESMS. The stats are fairly even and the quality of our side should have made this a tight encounter but every shot they had went in. Our goalkeeper had an absolute shocker and the ab losses he suffered have, quite rightly, dislodged him as the best on the game.

There is nothing I can do about this. Just a really odd one and one of those games where everthing went right for Brighton and nothing went well for us. A debut consolation goal from Darwin Nunez is the only real bright spot. We just have to thank our lucky stars this was a glorified friendly and so the result doesn't matter that much but we certainly need to pick ourselves up fast for the start of the league next week

Back to earth with a bang and some wound licking to do to pick ourselves up and go again
