U23 Auction Round 2 Result

Right then 12 teams bid in round 2.
9 got their first choice 1 got their second choice and that was because they clearly had a daft moment and 1 got their third choice. All that of course meant that one team missed out on all their bids.

We may as well start with the daft moment which was rather bizarre.
Chelsea @Darlington in round 1 won player W for £55.25m . So having won them in round 1 is seemed rather odd and bizarre that their first bid in round 2 was on player W the player who was won in round 1 and by them!! Clearly having a moment there @Dazoctaron

Ok then we saw a bid on a goalkeeper this round. Just one bid and only on 1 keeper so clearly he went to the team that bid for him as first choice.
They bid £24,750,000 on Player E 17 xxx 18 2 1 1 20 700 300 300 300 and that bid came from Derby @PeteS

Defenders then next and 3 of the 4 left were bid on.

Up first we have Player N 19 xxx 1 18 7 7 22 300 300 700 700 who had 2 bids. £15.75m was the first bid which was not enough and that came in from Newcastle @harry51. The second and winning bid was for £25m and it was the clubs first choice and that was from QPR @Joe

The other two defenders had single bids and were both first choice bids.

First then is Player H 22 xxx 1 20 6 5 24 300 300 500 500 who received a winning bid of £21,750,000 from Brighton

The other defender to go was Player P 17 xxx 1 17 5 5 23 300 500 500 700 and he got a bid of just £13m which cam in from West Ham @Macca

So we switch to strikers as 3 went this round.

First up was player GG 21 xxx 1 2 9 20 23 300 300 300 300 who went to a team that placed their first bid in any round of any auction this pre-season.
Welcome to the auction West Bromwich @Neilr and they got their man for £24m

Next then we go to Player HH 20 xxx 1 5 10 19 23 300 500 500 500. Having missed out on their first choice Newcastle @harry51 bid on him as their next choice with a sum of £21.25m and it was under half the winning bid. That is because after their bizarre moment Chelsea @Dazoctaron settled on him as their first correct bid with a massive £49,750,000. I say massive as the next highest bid in the auction was £27m!

That then leaves our last striker to go in Player MM 17 xxx 1 4 10 17 23 300 300 500 500 and Newcastle @harry51 had him as their third bid. Fortunately their bid of £10,250,000 was the only bid for him.

7 players down then which leaves 4 players and they are midfielders.

First up is Player T 21 xxx 1 3 20 11 23 300 300 300 300 and Leeds @Nocky came in first with their main bid which was £23m but it wasn't quite enough. They were beaten by a bid of £27m that came from Manchester City @Todd Fortune

Leeds @Nocky having missed out on their main man turned to Player U 21 xxx 1 6 19 10 23 300 500 300 700 and again bid £23m. In a sick twist they were beaten again by a bid of £27m but this time from Tottenham @Timbro

Player DD 16 xxx 1 3 16 11 19 300 500 300 700 next as it is nice and easy. A first choice bid of £15m got him and that came in from Fulham @Macca

Last player in the auction this round then and that player is Player CC 16 xxx 1 6 17 10 18 300 500 300 500

Two bids came in a first choice bid and a third choice bid and the difference between them was just £1m!

Leeds @Nocky then having missed out on their first two came for him and never altered their bids going that £23m and this time it wasn't £27m that came in from elsewhere no it was just £24m that took him and left Leeds empty handed this round. The winning bid then was from Coventry @willz121
