Auction First Round

Right then 20 of 24 teams bid this round which is one of best we have had in recent seasons.

Three of the 20 missed out on a player and will be round 2.
Four of the 20 got their second bid and 1 got their third bid.

The difference between the highest bid and lowest is £228m a good bit and that lowest bid well was it the bargain of the round....we will see what you all think when all is revealed.

Keepers then were not what teams were after and not 1 of then received a bid so all 5 will be in round 2.

Defenders were the most sought after with all but one of them getting bids.
Only 3 midfielders appeared to interest teams and 5 of the strikers.

So we will start with two easy midfielders....

J_Gittens only interested one club who made him their top choice and bid £76,000,000 and that bid came from Leeds United, @markbaldwin1892.

T Reijnders also only had 1 bid and that also was this teams top bid however he went for a little more with that team bidding £101,000,000. Certainly enough as it turned out but could they have picked him up for less. Ah well they got him which is what they wanted and so he goes to Manchester City @Todd Fortune

Of course the other midfielder bid on was Wirtz who attracted 4 bids, not the most on a player but as it turns out was to be the most expensive in the auction!

First in with a bid for him was QPR @Joe who bid a hefty £164,250,000 but it was not going to be enough this time.
Then came Arsenal who waded in with a much better figure of £194,250,000 but again not enough as we all forgot @Eduardo and his love of real life Liverpool players. His Liverpool bid £253,000,000 and were oh so close on getting their man but it wasn't enough but not by much why well some stupid idiot decide to go big and threw £254.250,000 into the ring for Wirtz and got with that.
Who? Well Everton of course and yep he goes to the neighbours for this season.

Right then so Liverpool missed their main man so they turned where well look for the real life Liverpool players and you can guess. We will move to strikers then and start with the easy ones.

First up is D Ouattara who looked like he'd get no interest but one of the last bids in from a team had him as their main guy...loved by someone then.
They offered up a princely £104,000,000 for him and he will be at Selhurst Park as he goes to Crystal Palace as their caretaker @Eduardo placed the bid

Then we had M_Tel who perhaps maybe classed as one of the bargains of the round as a bid of £62,500,000 won him.
That came in from Wolves and so off he goes to them @Ian McNamara

Next then a other solo bid on a striker.

This time it is B_Sesko who had just the one bid required to get him and that came from Nottingham Forest @Fenris who offered a reasonable £115,000,000

Two strikers left who were bid on we will leave Gyokeres til later though as things will become apparent why but to ease the worry it was because he became the action of second bids.

Instead we go to the main striker that people wanted in Etikite.
3 bids and what I didn't say was on Wirtz that was QPR's second choice player because this was their first and they bid £164,250,000 and clearly not enough if we had to move to their second. That also means that the £120,250,000 bid from Sunderland @Nocky as their first choice also fell short of the mark.

So who then.....welll think about it he is a Liverpool player in real life. Missing out on their main target meant @Eduardo moved here and made sure he got his man by wading in with £253,000,000 as their second choice player.

Just think if he'd won Wirtz then Etikite would be playing with QPR instead. funny how things turn out.

Right defenders then.....

Lets start easy with A_Truffert who attracted just one first choice bid that was for just £80,000,000. A potential bargain but not for me the steal of the round moneywise.
