Aston Villa 0-3 Los Angeles
Our 13 match unbeaten steak comes to an end but went into this one already through as group winners so we played as weak a side as we could. Filip Manojlovic made his debut in goal with Ridvan Yilmaz making his senior debut in defence alongside Simone Pinna. Javi Lopez also played in his last appearence for the club before he heads off to Spurs. Up front we had Brian Brobbey making a rare start alongside Nasariy Rusyn who was also a debutant.

So it was a side never really going to win this one but it was about injury prevention for the tight league run in. We will get to watch to playoffs now and then welcome the lowest placed side left to Villa Park in the quarter finals.

So not the result we wanted but mission accomplished!

Bournemouth 0-0 Al Alhy
We never fancied ourselves to win at Bournemouth so we went to get a point and hope one of the teams around us dropped some. We did our bit but sadly others didn't. So the result sees us drop to 5th just missing out on the quarter final spots automatically. That is a shame but we also used the opportunity to rest some of the key starters so we will be at full strength in Cairo for the playoff against Yokohama. Hopefully that will give us the edge to get through and then we'd have an away trip to Man City. If we get that far it won't be easy but we've had a great group stage with the best defensive record and can give anyone a game on our day

Monterrey 3 - 1 Cordoba

The score was 1-1 between the two clubs, and then L_Ocampos 2 - 0 Cordoba. He decided he wanted another match in this illustrious competition and secured himself a brace off the bench. We are very proud with the way we have recovered our club world cup performances and this means we are now in the playoffs. I believe we have another North American club in Inter Miami who will come to Mexico to try to progress. We look forward to their visit and know our fans will 'welcome' them like only the Rayados can do.
