Liverpool 2-1 DERBY COUNTY
Before the game I'd have probably settled for this result but after the way the game went I'm actually a little disappointed!
They had a player (Quansah) sent off in the 6th minute for punching and despite having the better of the game we couldn't really make the extra man and dominance pay.
Apart from fouls and red cards we had the better of the stats and even with opponents down to to 9 men for last few minutes we couldn't get anything from the game.

Reds 2 - 1 Rams
For the second league game in row we're getting two men sent off. In the season opener we had Jarell Quansah and Phillipe Coutinho sent off when we lost to Bournemouth and we was at it again when we hosted Derby County. Quansah and Coutinho returned from suspension and went straight into the starting line up. Coutinho came up big when he assisted Gerson on the winner but the game only lasted six minutes for Quansah. His second sending off in two games and he is making life hard for himself and rest of the team. Our aggression isn't that high so it's hard to get these red cards. Something we simply can't afford.
After a scoreless first half we managed to get the first goal of the game despite us being much worse than the away side. Joao Felix opened the score but Ayoze Perez levelled for the visitors few minutes after the opening goal. But despite playing with ten men, we managed to score once more. Philippe Coutinho found Gerson from a corner and we found ourselves 2-1 up with fifteen minutes left of the game. The Rams threw everything at us at the dying minutes and was unlucky not to score. We got our second red card when Dominik Szoboszlai made a nasty foul on Kai Havertz. He got the yellow card but couldn't keep his mouth and recived is second yellow card in the same situation when he said something to the referee. With five minutes to be played with nine men we had to get everyone behind the ball. We managed to keep the score and secured a great win when we know we had to play almost the whole game with ten men.

Leicester City 0 - 1 Brighton
Another decent result in Round 2 saw me visit my old club Leicester City. A solitary strike from J M da Silva was enough to get us three points and keep us top of the table... need to enjoy it whilst it lasts!
Two games, two wins and two clean sheets is very pleasing, so hopefully we can keep this mini run going a little longer.
GG Tony, good luck for the season ahead.

Chelsea 0-4 Aston Villa
A good measure of revenge for our 3-0 defeat in the reverse last season but in the end this turned out to be a bit of an upset - mainly because Josko Gvardiol lost his head just 4 minutes in and threw a punch which saw us reduced to 10 men for nearly the entire game! We had no choice but to sacrifice a FW which saw us playing 4-2-1-1-1 for the remainder of the match. On the counter as well this shouldn't produce goals.
But, before the 10 minute mark we were 2-0 up with Bruno Guimaraes and Tim Iroegbunam coming good with goals from midfield. Bruno has hit the ground running for us with 3 goals in his first four games whilst Tim's was his first senior career goal. After that double we controlled things well and Mark Guehi cropped up with his first goal for the club with three quarters of the match gone to put the result beyond doubt. Captain Nascimento added a fourth with 10 to play. Unfortunately there was still time for a negative with Guimaraes letting his temper get the better of him getting two yellows in a matter of seconds in injury time to join Gvardiol in an early bath.
A very solid away win and 10 goals scored without conceding in the week is very pleasing. But two men sent off is a negative and we will be talking to both players and the squad as a whole regarding discipline before the next game.
Most importantly it's points on the board and we haven't played a home league game as yet. after the initial defeat it was important for us to get up and running so delighted to do so and get the GD into the plus column as well. Following the slow start hopefully we can kick on from this point and build another successful season
