We saw this one coming a mile off. Despite having the counter, home advantage and a better squad as well as creating triple the chances with more than twice as many on target - once again we couldn't score. The fact they had a 24r GK in goal who had the game of his life making 14 saves and amassing 140 abs didn't help our cause.
We repeatedly seem to find ourselves against goalkeepers having their best days. If you want to get your keeper uprated and in form - play against us! It's crazy! I can only assume that our really potent attack is giving them lots to do. When it comes good we are really good - as a 10-0 win proved a few weeks back - but we don't do it enough and this is the 7th time we have failed to hit the net this seson.
We're nine points off the top now and the league is effectively over for us even though we're barely over a quarter of the way through. Making up nine points is going to be really tricky. The only thing that may help us is we still have to play them three times an they have a couple of players very close to rating up. But there is zero margin for error in our U23 season now.
