An unbelievable few days for us as we complete the double over the Merseyside duo in just a few days. Yes we were at home for both but they are both tough to play against and we're really happy with six points from this week.

I was shocked that Ed chose to go with a long ball tactic but it didn't really work out for them - I can only assume he thought i'd go counter attacking. The problem is that it creates minimal chances and, when we took the lead through Ansu Fati after 17 minutes it meant we could control it comfortably. They even went to a counter attack which gave us the counter in tactics and the rest of the game passed with minimal incidents.

We're now just one game short of being halfway through the season and sit top of the pile. Man Utd are only two points back but we have a six point cushion to the reds, nine to Bournemouth and 11 to Everton. We know nothing is won this early in the year but we're definitely still in the mix as we near that halfway point. This new league format is producing an incredible amount of points - we're at 2.5 per game so far and it'll be interesting to see exactly what is needed to take the title. At this rate it's going to be 85!!!

We have been here before and seen form slide away in the second half of the season. Hopefully we have learned from that and can keep it going. We have more depth now and hopefully can cope with the pressure this time.
