dissapointing result at home we should be doing much better at home but at least its not a defeat but we have to improve going forward

Aston Villa 3-1 West Bromwich Albion

As I said before the game i'd have been annoyed if we'd lost this one due to the difference between the squads. Fortunately we gained home and tactical advantage and the game was rarely in doubt. 22 shots to 4 with 11 on target to 2 and 64% possession demonstrates how dominant we were and we were unlucky not to score more.

Ansu Fati continued his goal per game start to the season after 35 minutes and we hit them with a one two as Zac Butterworth doubled the lead a minute later. We then went to a counter attack and I wonder if perhaps we should have kept attacking for longer. As it was they stayed in it and gave themselves a chance in the 75th minute through former Villa striker Pepe. It wasn't to be for them though and Luis Suarez removed all doubt - coming off the bench to net his first of the season in the 87th minute.

So four wins out of four and we sit atop the early league table but with Man Utd, Liverpool and Everton lurking ominously. It's far too early to say anything yet though - especially as all the sides we have played currently sit in the bottom 7. But we have done all we can so far and set ourselves up well for bigger tests to come.
