Sunderland U23 - Brighton U23

I truely thought we were in a two legged fixture with Tottenham and was already in my mind preparing how we'd grind out a result here to progress to the next leg.

Turns out it's group fixtures! Not a big issue but now I can say that the 3 points we earnt were bloody important in a tricky group. We host Brighton, we look fit and ready to go, let's get Wilson off the mark here... not keen for another season of a striker with a century plus of shots going at a rate of about 12 shots to 1 goal...

Wolverhampton Wanderers U23 - Liverpool U23

Our next game in the cup is a home game against Liverpool which will be a tough match. We've not had the worst start to the season however improvement is always possible. They are a good team however our youth team have been developing well so it's hopeful a result is achievable. Liverpool however are a very good side and the games against them this season have not been easy.
