FMFA Cup Format

The competition is for all Senior and National League Teams.
All Knockout games are 1 legged and if needed extra time and penalties will be played to sort a winner.
Round 1
Group Stage. 9 groups of 4 = 36 teams. Each team in a group plays the others at home and away which is 6 games each.
All 36 teams go into the league table and TOP 8 qualify for next round. Teams who finish 9 to 24 (16 teams) then will face in a 1 legged tie to decide who goes through. Will be 9v24, 10v23, 11v 22 etc.
Round 2
Round of 16 qualifiers. Teams who finished 9 to 24 in table in round 1 face each other in a 1 off tie to progress.
Round 3
Round of 16 - The 8 teams who qualified plus the 8 teams who won the qualifiers will be drawn into 8 ties and play a 1 legged match to decide who progresses.
Round 4
Quarter Finals - Remaining 8 teams drawn into 4 ties and play a 1 legged match to decide who progresses.
Round 5
Semi - Finals - Remaining 4 teams drawn into 2 ties and play a 1 legged match to decide who progresses.
Round 6
FINAL - One off match for final two teams at a neutral ground.
