Sunderland U23 2 - 1 Queens Park Rangers U23

Did the business again in a difficult situation that Lightfoot thrust us into, getting sent off after just ten minutes. Both sides went about it with an attacking mentality with like 40 shots between us. Keepers will have sore hands but we prevailed by being persistent and just having that one better chance that got put away. Our boys will be so tired after 80 minutes of ten men, managing to pinch a winner is pretty sweet and we are now two games clear at the top. I'm happy.

West Ham U23 2-3 Manchester United U23

Man United U23 edged a chaotic and high-tempo game at Rush Green 3-2, inspired by a match winning centre forward display from V_Musa. United went ahead early through a cruel E_Sowunmi own goal, before West Ham grew into the game and levelled through Philips who struck cleanly from 20 yards. The second half went wild. Musa twice punished West Ham with two ruthless finishes the first a clinical strike on 64 mins, then a curling effort three minutes later that completely swung momentum.
West Ham did show character – Halim equalised instantly at 2-2 with a scrappy but instinctive finish, but after Musa’s second United were happy to collapse into a deeper defensive block and protect. West Ham pushed, moved the ball well, dominated territory, but lacked the final execution. United more efficient, West Ham more wasteful. United edged it.
