We were the better side here in every factor but the goals scored column... and that is the most important one! We had enough chances to get three points, but just couldn't find a way past Herrick in the West Ham goal.
They managed to pinch it with three minutes to go, and we go back to the drawing board for the next game!
Where we failed with Brighton, we were brilliant with Fulham as we scored three goals but also created a load of chances - 16 shots on target!
Slade, Splatt and Ali-Wahid grabbed a goal each to give us a great three points, a commanding performance, and a good haul of abs with Picotto picking up 114 passing abs alone!
Much like Brighton, a win and a defeat to start the season off, but with the weakness of our U23 roster, it's great to put a big show on for the fans here.
How we managed to play over 60 minutes without conceeding is beyond me but when your goalkeeper makes 17 saves in one game, you know you've been outclassed. Aaron Maguire has been world class for us at the start of the season and despite losing 3-0 he deserved the man of the match award. The home side was left frustrated for the majority of the game thanks to Maguire but at the end of the game we couldn't withstand the pressure they put us on. We knew when they scored the first, the game was lost. They added another two in the last ten minutes of the game. We have to give credit to the home side tonight. They was absolute outstanding in this one and left us with no chance to get a result.
