FMFA Youth Cup Format

The FMFA Youth Cup is a straight knockout competition over a single tie.
Round 1: The top eight teams in the top division from last season will receive a bye to round . The remaining 16 teams will be drawn in to 8 ties with a home and an away team. The winner of the tie will progress to the next round but if teams are level after 90 minutes then penalties will be used to decide the winner.
Round 2: The 8 winners from round 1 and the 8 teams who received a bye will enter the draw for round 2. The 16 teams will be drawn in to 8 ties with a home and an away team. The winner of the tie will progress to the next round but if teams are level after 90 minutes then penalties will be used to decide the winner.
Round 3 (Quarter-Final): The 8 winning teams from round 2 will be drawn into 4 ties with a home and an away team. The winner of the tie will progress to the next round but if teams are level after 90 minutes then penalties will be used to decide the winner.
Round 4 (Semi-Final): The 4 winning teams from round 3 will be drawn into 2 ties with a home and an away team. The winner of the tie will progress to the next round but if teams are level after 90 minutes then penalties will be used to decide the winner.
Round 5 (Final): The 2 winners of the semi-finals shall meet in a one legged match on a neutral ground. If the match is level after 90 minutes then penalties will be used to decide the winner.
