Re: AUCTION Round 1 Result

All the strikers bar Origi received bids so he will go into round two.

We will start with the star of the show or so it turned out to be as E HAALAND received the most bids with seven in total.
All seven bids were first choice bids as well, not surprisingly. First was a cheeky £50m from Bournemouth which was never going to get him but I guess @Matt hoped everyone might leave him be and he would mop up for naff all. Not this time bud.
Next to fail was £90.25m from QPR followed by £150m from Brentford. Fourth lowest of the seven bids was Liverpool who went £181m and then it was £190m by Wolves. The last two bids were over £200m for the striker.
One was £200m and one was £266m and the two teams left are Man Utd and Southampton but who got their man? Well he is heading south as SAINTS had the winning bid.@Alberti

Next we have the highest rated forward in the auction K BENZEMA who only received two bids. One cheeky on of £51.25m and the winning one of £141.75m.
Manchester City tried the cheeky one and like Bournemouth with Haaland banked on no one bidding but them and it nearly worked!! Instead Tottenham Hotspur made him their first choice and got their player. @David H

LUKAKU only had the one bid and that was a third choice bid of £100m from Division One Leeds @Daniel

Three left then and one of the three had two bids and that was A ARMSTRONG. A second choice for Brentford who bid £50m and ultimately failed to a third choice bid of £60.25m from Burnley @tim1966

The other two had just one bid each and both were third choice bids.
CALLUM WILSON went for £60m and was Brentford's third choice @stocko74
That leaves....
BOBBY FIRMINO who went for just £51.25m to Man City who having tried to get a few higher rated players with just above the min amount finally achieved it. @Ruggy A bargain for the amount paid in the end.

And that I think concludes round one of the auction. Round two opens at on Thursday 23rd June 2022 for the seven clubs who can bid if they wish.
